The Thing About That One Thing

Okay Oddballs,

U know how I am putting up scripture and talking about it...well...i'm not doing that today..Today is all about you...what you want to do with your life..It isn't so much the looks...like hair, the kind of shoes or clothes you wear, or what you weigh...Its about your beliefs..and how you can put that into your daily life..

Hmmm.. I know I am just a dorky person writing on a blog for a very small audience..but there is a point to me writing..It helps me...more ways than you could ever understand, but I like it that way...It is making a difference to me as well as to other people...and That's what I want to talk about.

What about us is special...can we sing like angels..or dance like someone in the Russian ballet??? Well, maybe not...but it doesn't mean we aren't worthy to be in Earth. We all have something we can give...we all have something that we treasure...and we definitely all have something that we are good at..

For example..I am great at annalyzing movies..and operating a camera...It's what I love..and hopefully it will be my future career...I want to take my talent and use it to show videos that will help people see the kinds of need that people in other places have...so many others can be aware and help out..


serve with what you've got..and I know you'll make it :)

Oddball's Back With Community Service and Humility :)

Good morning Oddballs!!!

Today is one of those days where someone just wants to just jump out of the shower and go "YES!!!!" Of course, there is snow on the ground where I live (UGH), but I like it. Because snow on the trees are so beautiful...I can sit and look out for hours.

Anyway, Oddball is back and running...with some minor changes that are going to be awesome..Yes I'm going to talk about some movie ideas that I have...and Yes there will be Bible scripture and other things that will boost Christian faith and support good attitudes!!! :) But it's not all about that...it's about you.. The people that just need something to read everyday so that life just doesn't suck so bad. I guess we all have those days where we just want to scream in our pillows and punch a punching bag. It's a part of teenage and adult life. We all go throught it...and as I am getting to be an adult very..very soon..it's even more important that I set in good standards for all the younger children that will look up to me.

People have to be good people...if that makes any sense whatsoever...Haha.

So, the scripture I would like to point out today is Matthew 6...its about giving to the needy...the chapter is below

¹ "Beware of _r practicing your righteousness before other people in order _s to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

² _t "Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may _u be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have _v received their reward. ³ But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, ⁴ so that your giving may be in secret. _w And your Father who sees in secret will reward you (ESV)

I think I can relate to this...have you ever done community service and just bragged about it to everyone...like you just had to tell everybody that "I"M doing service to the community and you're not...so I'm a better person!"...Well, not exactly...I think and so does the scripture say that we should all do service to other people in secret...Remember that one time where someone annymous did something for you...It WAS THE BEST THING EVER!!! Everyone remembers that small thing that meant so much...That's what Jesus is talking about here....you don't have to tell the whole world that you are serving...just serve and don't expect anything in return.

I'm not saying don't do community service and not tell people..i'm saying....HAVE some HUMILITY about it...Yes....humility is our key word today...

Lets all have some humilty today...and if you have snow on the ground like myself....shovel the sidewalk for someone else...:)
Do something that you love..and help the needy at the same time.
We can all do our part somehow :)
